Coach David Gibson

Co-founder of Halifax Youth Wrestling Club

I helped to start this club on the premise of providing a pipeline of quality wrestlers with many years of experience to the Halifax High School Wrestling team in order to become a competitive team.

Since the club's inception in 2005 we are now starting to see the fruits of our labor. Wrestlers from HYWC are beginning to make their way on to the high school team and have great success.

David started wrestling at Halifax County High School and continued to wrestle while at Longwood College. After leaving college to join the USMC, the passion for wrestling continued to burn and that is when the late

Co- Founder Jerry Messick approached David about building a feeder program. Since then David has dedicated his time to promoting the sport of wrestling in Halifax County. David is a Bronze Level Certified USA Wrestling Coach
